We end up laying on the couch all day, cuddling, talking, and kissing. We eat, drink, and watch tv. We order pizza for dinner and then head to the bedroom. We both get into the shower, and I can’t help but watch as she steps below the hot flow of water. It cascades down her blonde hair, over her chest, and down her flat, toned stomach. I reach out and pour some shampoo into my hand, and then massage it into her hair. She keeps her head back and eyes closed, just enjoying my touch.

“What are you going to tell Maddie?” I ask, remembering how she told her she would be home later.

She shrugs. “I doubt I have to tell her anything. She was still with Travis when she called. If I know her, they’ve spent their day in bed.”

I make a fake gagging sound. “Not what I want to hear about my little sister. And that Travis guy is up to no good.”

“What? Why would you say that?”

I rinse the shampoo from her hair and start adding conditioner. “Did you see the same guy I did? He was covered in tattoos. I mean, what kind of job can he get looking like that?”

“Model?” she jokes.

“Ha ha.” I rinse the conditioner from her hair. “I hope she isn’t thinking about getting serious with this guy. Do you know anything about him?”

She steps out of the water so I can move into it to wash my hair.

“All I know is she’s been on four dates with him, and he works for some start-up company. I highly doubt she gets serious. I hate to say it, but you and your sister are more alike than you think.”

“What’s that supposed to mean?”

“You both bounce around from one person to the next.”

I shake my head. “Nope, I’m done with that. You’re my last bounce,” I joke.

“You better say that.” She steps up to me and presses her lips to mine.

I pull her closer, pick her up against me, and carry her to bed, dripping wet.
